The VW Bullis biggest advantage is its easy double usage as personal car and camper. It's driven similar to a personal car and is still small enough, with a elevating roof, to fit into a garage or parking garage. It's well suited as a base vehicle for two persons, which could renounce on a toilet. But it's comparatively expensive and considered by us as too small for our requirements.
These two, at least from their superstructure, similar vehicles are quite popular base vehicles. They are available in several lengths, e.g. short (length 4.8m) and middle (5.5m). We regarded the short version as a bit to small and the middle version as a bit to big for us. Additional these vehicles are quite expensive, which was our main argument against them.
Also the Ford Transit is a interesting base vehicle and its price is below of LT and Sprinter. But there exists not much camper construction material specific for this car. Interesting for us was the middle long version (5,2m), combined with the high top from SCA.
These, apart from some differences regarding the motor, similar vehicles are the base of the most alcove camping cars. But especial the middle long version (5,1m) ist also a good base for campers and there exists a lot of camper construction material for them.
We pondered a long time, which is the right base car for us, but finally we came to the decision to choose a Citroen Jumper, because of the following reasons:
We chose, because of the higher additional transport capacity, the version with 3,3t. And the most powerful motor (128 PS), mainly to ensure being able to overtake slow vehicles on mountainous roads.
